18 Apr The Hope of Easter
Has the darkness of your circumstances made you forget the Hope you have in Jesus? Maybe your marriage isn’t what you had expected, maybe your job or finances disappoint you, or maybe you just don’t know where to look for hope.
The promise of what Easter brings was not apparent when Jesus was crucified. I’m sure Jesus’s disciples, who had faithfully followed Him, were confused and disillusioned when Jesus was dead and put into the grave. I have thought about how that must have been for the disciples who had given up everything to follow Jesus. Because we know how the story ends, it is easy to forget about how dark the days were between Jesus’s death and when He was raised from the grave. When sickness, death, pain, or loss overwhelms me, I want to focus on what happened on Easter. The Lord, my Hope, proved that His promises are true, He did not leave us, and He will overcome sickness, death, pain, loss, or any of life’s difficult circumstances.
He is risen! Happy Easter!
